Alternators Sideswipe and Sunstreaker came with me on a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. We took off from the airport in Las Vegas, Nevada and flew across to Arizona, where we landed deep inside the canyon just before sunset. Here are the pictures I took. The cattle skull is a prop I brought with me.

Sideswipe’s Backpack

Sideswipe is wearing a custom-made backpack that fits up to two after-market missile and missile launchers. The backpack is made out of red “Sculpy” brand modeling clay. I rolled out the clay and cut it into shapes. Then I baked the individual pieces before gluing them together. The center part fits neatly over the black linkage that runs up his back and the two pegs on either side fit into the matching slots on Sideswipe’s shoulders, keeping the backpack rigidly attached and sturdy. The holes in the blocks are custom sized to snugly fit the missile launcher shown. This backpack design fits any of the Dodge Viper characters of similar design. It would also fit Sunstreaker or Dead End.
