Today I finished painting the highlights on my picture of Bluestreak in the Fan Art section. Some other minor site fix-ups are also done. Tomorrow I’m going out to take pictures of Pacific Northwest forest shots for the Scenic section. The local park where I’m going is frequently used to shoot big movies and TV series.

Lots of updates to the website today! Every page was revised for a better look. My favorite change is the addition of cartoon characters to the Piffle Page. Check it out.

Today, a picture of Sunstreaker and Sideswipe is going up on the Fan Art page. Again, I don’t have a background for it. To be honest, I’m impressed enough with my ability to get these pictures up since it’s been about fifteen years since I did any drawings at all.

Also, I got the license plate holders and Autobot symbol magnet for my car done. The pictures are up at the end of my Bio page. As I mentioned last post, I will eventually put up pictures of my Transformers collection, accessible through a link in the Bio section. I’m reorganizing the collection during the next couple of weeks. The link on my Bio page lists the figures I have. I’ll keep it updated as my collection grows.

With The Spark Cell complete now, I’ve started my next fan fiction. The synopsis is on the Fan Fic page, and I’ll update the character list as the story develops.

I also made some more progress on special detailing of my car. Yesterday I got two stainless steel license plate covers with the words “Energon Fueled” on them and a black background on my car hood Autobot symbol in preparation for having it made into a magnet. I don’t want to apply the sticker directly to the car because I think that paint fading, sticker fading and sticker wear will be issues. This way I can keep the hood decal in good condition and prevent anyone from tampering with it by removing it when I’m not driving.

Car detailing

Yes, one license plate holder is upside down. That’s so that it doesn’t hide my vehicle insurance decal.

Well, today is the big day! My first fan fiction The Spark Cell is finally finished and posted. I think I’ll sleep sounder at night now, knowing that the story is done. It is very lengthy for anyone that wants to print it out to read it. In MS Word, it was 150 pages. I’m very pleased with how this one turned out and am looking forward to writing another.

In other news, I just found out about a really awesome new kitbash to turn the Alternator Nemesis Prime into Trailbreaker. I found out about it from Reprolabels.com. Now I’ve got to get my hands on a Nemesis Prime and get this done.

Currently, I’m waiting for their G1 sticker conversion sets for all my Alternators to come in the mail. I even have an extra Prowl and a Binaltech Alert so that I can kitbash a Red Alert figure. Recently, I picked up an extra Silverstreak so that I can make my own properly colored Bluestreak figure. Fun, fun, fun!

Sooner or later, I’m going to post a link on my Bio page to photos of my collection.

Just a quick post today to fix up a few things in the Scenic section. Also, the email address is now up at the bottom of this page for anyone having a question or wanting to leave feedback. I’m still trying to decide whether or not to place a direct link to email there, since I don’t want to have to wade through spam to get to real email.

The mystery scenic location is revealed! It’s Mount St. Helens, the real-life basis for the fictional volcano in the Pacific Northwest that the Autobot spaceship crashed into in the Generation 1 cartoon. You can find the icon on the Scenic page to find out what the volcano looks like today.

More updates! A photo of my car is added to the Bio page. The picture of Simbatron is now up on the Piffle page. Also, more photos of British Columbia and a couple from Washington state are added to the Scenic page. Scenery photos are now available for Campbell River on Vancouver Island and the Peace area up north. But these places are not the upcoming mystery location! Those mystery photos are being worked on at the moment – they deserve their own page within the Scenic section. Check back soon.

It’s been longer than I wanted without an update. Unfortunately, work kept me out of town for a couple of weeks. I have another small trip then I’ll be posting some more photos in the Scenic section. The location of my next trip will be of interest to TransFans....to find out where it is, keep an eye on the Scenic section.

My first piece of artwork goes up in the Fan Art section today. When I was a kid I really wanted to be an animator for the Transformers cartoon. This is my first attempt at coloring in a scanned sketch. I’ll have to come back and work on backgrounds later – I just want to get some content up for starters. For now, imagine Bluestreak relaxing wherever you like.

For anyone wondering what’s going on with my first Fan Fic, The Spark Cell, it’s still in progress. It’s been stuck at page 90 since I’ve been out of town. It should be finished reasonably soon, as I have another one coming soon after it.

Kick Off!

July 8, 2006

That’s right, I finally put my website up today! And I’m pretty darn happy about that.  It’s amazing how simple it looks, yet it took me a month to get it to this point.  I didn’t know a thing about making web pages, PhotoShop or CorelPainter a month ago. So with that, I give you my first *rant*

I was thinking about some talk I’d heard about updating Soundwave, Blaster and the cassettes because technology has changed.

Sure if Teletraan-1 was to scout out new transformation modes today, it would probably pick something different than cassettes and cassette players.  But I like keeping to the whole 1984 awakening thing, so I think they should stay the way they are for now.

How would alien machines that didn’t integrate into human society know what was cutting edge human technology and what wasn’t, or even care about totally keeping up on it?  The Transformers and Teletraan-1 couldn’t instantly know the complete background of technological development, or what the latest fashion in vehicles was, any more than you or I could if we were aliens on another planet.  So Soundwave, Blaster, the cassettes, and even the vehicles could forseeably be slightly outdated, even today. Believe it or not, some people still own cassette tape players, just like a few people still own record players and eight tracks.  A guy I went to high school with restored an old Mustang and installed an eight track player for authenticity.  Brave guy you might say...

Okay, maybe a phonograph or something of obvious antiquity is where you could draw the line.  I doubt Teletraan-1 would scan one of those.  As for vehicles,  I see vehicles on the road of all different ages.  Heck, I recently saw a shiny, restored Fairlady Z on the road.  I don’t think the Transformers, again being aliens and not having our sense of fashion, would necessarily care if they weren’t absolutely current. As long as they disguised themselves, what else really matters?  Perhaps Tracks or Sunstreaker might care. But the old Corvette still looks great, and the Lamborghini has a kind of timeless look, like a Ferrari. Since Sunstreaker already thinks he’s the most beautiful thing on the planet, why would he want to change? It might be a big hassle and a lot of work to update every few years, also.

I bet there was technology of all different vintages on Cybertron. That’s one reason why I think the Transformers talk to each other using forearm communicators, etc - because their circuitry may not have been compatible with each other to communicate otherwise. I just can’t see a planet of machines all progressing or updating with each other in synch, especially since the two factions were at war with one another.
